There’s nothing like los tres golpes for breakfast, but have you ever tried a Dominican bagel? If you happen to be from New Jersey or New York City, I already know this combo is a dream come true for you!

Putting salami, egg, and cheese on a sandwich isn’t a super new idea, and I’ve even done it before in this tres golpes breakfast sandwich. But putting “los tres golpes” on a bagel is just next level.

Los tres golpes on a bagel

The main components of los tres golpes are: salami, cheese, and egg. And you definitely can’t forget the fried onions and the avocado!

This Dominican bagel has everything you’d find in a classic Dominican mangu breakfast, but on a bagel for easy transportation.

Living in NJ/NYC, bagels are an every weekend kind of thing. The words β€œtaylor ham egg and cheese” practically come out as 1 word!

So I was inspired to put it all my favorite Dominican breakfast ingredients on a bagel and make the first Dominican style bagel.

What brand of queso de freir is the best?

My favorite brand of queso de freir (frying cheese) is Tropical. They have both a white and yellow frying cheese variety, the white one is the most popular but I prefer the yellow one (although it’s a little hard to find in the states). Nothing tastes better than the one my grandma brings back from DR though!

What brand of Dominican frying salami is the best?

The salami brand my family uses is Induveca, it’s a staple in a Dominican kitchen and can be used in so many more recipes like locrio de salami and Dominican spaghetti.

Dominican Bagel (Salami, Egg, and Cheese)

Forget bacon, egg, and cheese bagels, and try a Dominican bagel with fried salami, fried egg, fried cheese, onions, and avocado.
