It’s not Semana Santa unless there’s habichuelas con dulce, but that doesn’t mean it can’t come in the form of this habichuelas con dulce milkshake! It’s creamy, nostalgic, and just a little extra.
Usually you’d eat habichuelas con dulce with a spoon or sip it from a mug, but this way works with cold, leftover Dominican sweet beans. Plus you can drink it with a straw!

Pick your favorite ice cream flavor
I chose creamy vanilla ice cream for this habichuelas con dulce milkshake to make sure I’m not covering up any of those classic flavors, but chocolate or cookie dough would be so delicious too.
The perfect toppings
I topped my milkshake with whipped cream, a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, and some of those galleta cookies you’d find in classic Dominican sweet beans. You could top it with a sprinkle of caramel, raisins, or crushed up galleta cookies.
