In a large bowl, combine ribs with sofrito, garlic, lemon juice, lime juice, adobo, sazón, salt, oregano, cumin, and brown sugar. Mix well to marinate and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Place ribs on grill, close the grillc and cook for 30-40 minutes. Flip ribs, close grill, and cook for another 30-40 minutes.
Once charred, place ribs in an aluminum tray, drizzle with barbeque sauce, and cover with foil. Return to grill and cook for 20-30 minutes at 300° F. Remove foil and let ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving. ¡Buen provecho!
Oven Method
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In a large bowl, combine ribs with sofrito, garlic, lemon juice, lime juice, adobo, sazón, salt, oregano, cumin, and brown sugar. Mix well to marinate and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Place ribs on a baking dish and cover tightly with a sheet of aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5-3 hours, until ribs are tender.
Remove foil and raise oven temperature to 400° F. Brush ribs with barbeque sauce and bake for another 15-20 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and the ribs are browned. Let ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving. ¡Buen provecho!
