The Best Chocolate Chunk Brownies From Scratch Recipe

Brownies are one of the most classic desserts that have truly stood the test of time. In my opinion, the perfect brownie is a delicate balance of dark, rich chocolate flavor, with a moist, fudgy texture, and a slightly crisp crust.

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter unsalted
  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup flour all-purpose
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chunks dark chocolate
  • ½ cup chocolate chips semi sweet

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or baking spray.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the sugar.
  • Next, add the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
  • Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until well combined. Add chocolate chunks and chips and mix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top with a spatula, making sure that the batter is evenly distributed in the dish.
  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once they are done baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
