Peel the plantain and cut diagonally into even pieces, approximately ¼ to ½ inch thick.
Heat oil in a pan over low to medium heat until it reaches frying temperature and carefully add the plantain pieces to the hot oil, making sure not overcrowded in the pan.
Fry the plantains on both sides until they turn golden brown. The longer they cook, the more they will caramelize.
Remove the maduros from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil. Serve hot y buen provecho!
